Global Desk: Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that that the Hamas have made ‘a big mistake of historic proportions’ by attacking Israel. In a public address which he shared on social media, Netanyahu said that Israel did not start this war but it will finish it.
He also added that Jewish people are no more stateless or defenceless as they were once. And “when Israel wins, the entire civilized world wins”.
Netanyahu said this on Monday as his country prepares for an offensive attack in reply to the multi-pronged assault by Palestine through air, land, and sea.
The out of the blue ambush by the Hamas militants of Palestine have led to hundreds of deaths and thousands of injuries to civilians including women and children. Casualties also reportedly include citizens of multiple foreign countries.
The videos of harassing civilians have circulated in the social media. In a number of viral videos, children are seen getting seperated form their parents. Similarly, a few of them also show some children held captive by the militants.
The online community has reacted to these videos with disgrace and agony. The global community have also denounced this atrocious use of violence and brutality to the civilians and prayed for peace.
UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak have shared on soial media platform X an illuminated flag of Israel at the 10 Downing Street and worote that britain stands with Israel.
Likewise, US President Joe Biden in a series of tweets have condemed the attack and declared his unweavering support to Israel. In one of the tweets he said that his administration’s support for Israel is ‘rock solid’.
Amidst the already ongoing Ukraine-Russia war, the latest escalation in tensions between Israel and Palestine is bound to have a global impact, especially within the middle eastern region. Although, the biggest victims of such conflicts are always the innocent civilians who lose everything from shelter to loved ones to their freedoms.
