India to have its first ‘Museum of Locks’ in Aligarh
Travel Desk: India’s first ‘Museum of Locks’ is set to come up in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. The aim of the project would be to display the evolution of locks from its early history to the present era of digital locks.
As per reports, it would be a multi-million project initiated by the state government and would possibly take 18 to 24 months for completion.
Alongside the exhibition of locks, the museum will also comprise of souvenir shops, children’s play area, cafes, auditorium and a hall for social functions, making it an experiential destination for visitors.
Aligarh has always been world famous for its lock manufacturing tradition. it has been a hub of lock manufacturing in India since ages. Dur to this is has earned the title of the ‘Lock City of India.’
If this innovative project is executed well, it is sure to attract significant number of visitors and become an appealing travel destination. It will also give a major boost to the tourism industry in the region.
