Business Desk: The lavish Dubai hotel, the Bruj al Arab, is expected to close down soon. The world-famous hotel is set to temporarily shut down for about a year and a half to undergo renovation works.
As reported by the Khaleej Times, it is expected to open again in October 2027. During this period all the amenities like restaurants and wellbeing facilities is also expected to remain out of service. The task of its restoration would be carried out by Tristan Auer, who is also an iconic Paris based architect.
In its official website, Bruj al Arab stated that the restoration programme has been designed to refresh and upgrade its iconic décor while preserving its distinctive character.
It also clarified that it would assist its customers with an alternative reservation in one of its properties in town.
Likewise, on a social media post, its owner company Jumeirah said “the moment marks not an ending, but a thoughtful pause, dedicated to preserving an icon for generation to come.”
Built in 1999, the hotel Bruj al Arab is a sail shaped 7 star hotel in Dubai. It is 321m in height and has 56 floors, offering around 202 luxury suites for its guests. It is known to be one of the most celebrated hotels in Dubai and attracting tourists from around the world. However, the timing of its closure due to renovation draws attention, as it coincides with the Iran war, which has concerningly affected the tourism industry across the Arab region including the Dubai city.
