Who is Asia’s new richest person?
Business Desk: Indian business tycoon Gautam Adani has now become the richest man in Asia. The founder of one of the major Indian infrastructure conglomerate Adani Group, Adani has overtaken his fellow Indian magnate Mukesh Ambani of Relience.
According to latest figures from Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Adani’s latest net worth has surged to 92.6 billion USD, making him not just the richest in Asia, but the 19th richest person globally. In contrast, Ambani, who had long occupied the position for years stood behind him with the net worth of 90.8 billion USD.
Adani’s rise to the pole position has been fueled by sustained progress and growth in his company’s market performance recently. Notably, the Adani Group invested in several infrastructural developmental projects across the country from airports, roads, and real estate helping his company gain profit in multiple industries.
However, despite being the richest in Asia, both Adani and Ambani are still not among the top 10 richest in the world. Elon Musk continues to hold the top spot. His net worth is over 650 billion USD. Some of the other names in the top 10 richest list includes the likes of Larry Page, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, Sergey Brin, Larry Ellision, Michael Dell, Jensen Huang, Bernard Arnault, and Jim Walton.
