Global Desk, 30 March, 2022: Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government in Pakistan is in the brink of a collapse, after Khan received a major setback ahead of the upcoming vote of no confidence motion scheduled to take place soon.

One of the key partners of Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) – The Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) – is reportedly set to jump the ship and join the opposition alliance before the day of the vote.

This was revealed on Wednesday by the leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who is currently also leading the opposition unit to topple the incumbent government led by former world cup winning cricketer Imran Khan.

Zardari in a social media post congratulated the people of Pakistan and said that the united opposition has reached an agreement with the MQM, and further details on the same would be shared with the press soon.

With these recent developments, the likelihood of Khan continuing his control over the throne of Pakistan politics is dwindling.

Meanwhile, PM Khan has asked his party leaders to withdraw from voting on the day of no-confidence motion, which is likely to take place in the coming week.
