Digital learning should not result in digital divide: Vice President of India

National Desk: On Monday, the Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu said that technology and digital learning can play a leading role in spreading education to every part of the country.

Naidu stated this in Chennai during the inauguration event of a Sports Centre at the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research in the city.

During this, he also highlighted the issue of digital divide and said that digital learning should not give rise to a digital divide among the people.

Highlighting the role and impotence of teachers in the society, Naidu also asserted that teachers are the nation’s intellectual lifeline as they play a pivotal role in its development. He further said that technical skills in e-learning among teachers should be developed.

Moreover, he also said that the real goal of education is enlightenment, and it is not just a degree.
