The doctors from the European Society of Cardiology have linked ultra-processed food to increased chances of heart problems. They have specifically urged patients to value home cooked food and prefer it over ultra-processed food for a healthy heart and overall wellbeing.

Apart from just heart problems, the consensus statement by the group of cardiologists relates ultra processed food to higher concerns of other ailments like type 2 diabetes, blood pressure, and obesity.

It further advises to embrace healthy lifestyle and eating habits. It recommends patients to eat slow and refrain from late-night meals. Besides, it is also recommended to eat slowly.

Regular consumption of ultra-processed food is widely prevalent within the global community. Apart from youngsters, even older people are observed to consume them. Busy lifestyle combined with its easy availability through food delivery platforms, and widespread publicity of such food and drinks in the media can be said to be influential in encouraging people towards it.

Although, ultra-processed food satiates instant cravings, it comes with catastrophic health risks in long run. It is also the main reason for many health problems today including obesity, liver and digestive issues. Thus, it is crucial to be mindful of what and where we eat.
