Global Desk: Donald Trump has been found guilty by the US court just before he submits his nomination for the upcoming US presidential elections.

The former president has been indicted for 34 charges related to falsifying documents to camouflage a sex scandal during his 2016 presidential campaign.

The court is likely to sentence him for these charges on July 11, which will happen at the brink of the Republican Party nominating his name for the elections later this year.

Reacting to the verdict, Trump and his team have expressed their dissatisfaction and also revealed that they will challenge the verdict.

Trump also called the judge who announced the verdict a ‘devil’. Meanwhile, through his website he asserted that he did nothing wrong, and he was convicted in a ‘rigged political witch hunt trail.”

With this he also becomes the first former US predsident to be convicted in such a case.

Now the question is will Trump be able to serve as the president or nominate himself for the election? Yes, he will. The constitution of United States allows any eligible candidate with a criminal record to fight the election and even serve as a president from a prison cell.

What remains to be seen now is will this latest verdict derail Trump’s presidential dream of making America great again, or it will work as a marketing tool and further fortify his campaign and support base? The final verdict is always given by the voters in a democracy.
