Art Desk: The recently crowned winner of the Miss Japan beauty contest Karolina Shiino has given up her title.
She did this following a media report about her affair with a married man, who is a doctor, reports the Japan Times.
The Ukrainian born Shiino had earlier stated that she was unaware about the marital status of the man. However, later she disclosed of lying and said that she did so as a result of shock and panic over the issue.
The Miss Japan authorities have accepted back her title.
Earlier, 24-year-old Shiino was in the centre of attention after winning the beauty content as Ukrainian born Japanese, and not possessing a familiar Japanese outlook.
