India: Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has stated that India as a nation gives him hope for a better future. He said that the world’s most populous nation has proven that it can stand up to big challenges and solve most problems.

He also said that in the recent times India has eradicated many of its pressing problems like ending polio, lowering HIV transmission, minimizing poverty, reducing infant mortality rate, and raised the access to sanitation and financial services.

He also stated that this has been possible for India only due to its ‘development of a world leading approach to innovation that ensures solutions reach those who need them”.

Speaking about climate change, Gates also said that India is at the ‘frontline of climate change’.

Further, he also stated that India is rolling out large-scale programs due to the skill and innovative expertise of its population. “India can be a key part of making progress on today’s biggest challenge,” he added.

Bill Gates, who is currently the co-chair at Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation wrote this on his blog GateNotes in view of his upcoming visit to India next week.
