Sports Desk: Indian men’s hockey team finished with a silver medal at the final match of the 2022 Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham, England.
India received a heavy defeat in front of the mighty Australian team with seven goals to nil in the gold medal match.
This is the third time the Indian men’s hockey team have won the silver medal at the Commonwealth Games.
According to the match statics India failed to earn any penalty corner in the match. While, Australia managed to get seven penalty corners and managed to convert two.
With this Australia have extended its gold medal tally in Commonwealth Games Hockey to straight seven final wins.
Earlier on Sunday, the Indian women’s hockey team outplayed New Zealand in the penalty hits after the match ended in a draw with the Kiwis making a resounding comeback in the final minutes of the match.
