MS Dhoni returns as the captain of CSK
Sports Desk: MS Dhoni is set to return as the skipper of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) again.
Its current captain Ravindra Jadeja handed over the responsibility back to the former Indian captain to focus on his own performance as a player.
According to reports, Dhoni has accepted the decision in view of the larger interest of the team.
This was informed in the official social media accounts of the CSK franchise on Saturday.
“Jadeja to handover CSK captaincy back to MS Dhoni: Ravindra Jadeja has decided to relinquish captaincy to focus and concentrate more on his game & has requested MS Dhoni to lead CSK. MS Dhoni has accepted to lead CSK in the larger interest & to allow Jadeja to focus on his game,” it said.
CSK has had a very miserable campaign so far this season. Currently they are placed at 9th in the league table, just ahead of the bottom placed Mumbai Indians.
Jadeja, who is an all-rounder, was leading the team and any IPL team for the first time in his career.
