Election strategist Prashant Kishor declines offer to join Congress
National Desk: Election strategist Prashant Kishor has declined to join the Indian National Congress. Kishor stated this on Tuesday through his official Twitter account.
In his statement he said that “I declined the generous offer of #congress to join the party as part of the EAG & take responsibility for the elections.”
He further added that more than him the Congress party requires better leadership, unity, and transformational reforms to fix its ongoing structural problems.
“In my humble opinion, more than me the party needs leadership and collective will to fix the deep rooted structural problems through transformational reforms,” he said.
Kishor, who is the founder of a group called the Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) is currently engaged with the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) in preparation of the state election in Telangana.
He has worked for a number of political parties in India as a political strategist.
Given its deteriorating fortunes in Indian politics, the Congress had been trying to persuade Prashant Kishor to bring him into its fold.
