Fuel Prices reach exorbitant rates in India, Congress launches ‘Mehngai Mukt Bharat’ campaign, Priyanka Gandhi says govt. starts robbing people after every election

National Desk, 01 April, 2022: Fuel prices in India continues to reach skyrocketing rates. After a gap of over four months, the prices of petrol and diesel have again increased for the ninth successive occasion.

On Thursday, both petrol and diesel costs were hiked by INR 80p per litre. While it has become INR 6.40 expensive in the last ten days for every litre.

In the national capital New Delhi, petrol can be bought at INR 101.81 per litre, while diesel is priced at INR 93.07 per litre.

Similarly, in the financial capital Mumbai petrol has touched a whopping INR 116.72 per litre and diesel at 100.94 per litre respectively.

Down in the south, petrol and diesel are being sold at INR 111.35 and INR 96.22 per litre respectively in Chennai.

While in the eastern city of Kolkata, petrol has reached INR 111.35 per litre and diesel has touched INR 96.22 per litre.

This as a result has led to several public protests around the country.

On Thursday, Indian National Congress leader Rahul Gandhi led an anti-price rise agitation in New Delhi’s Vijay Chowk. He was also accompanied by the leaders of the party.

In a statement, Gandhi said the government should bring the fuel prices under control, which has risen for nine times in the last ten days.

Similarly, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi also raised her protests and said that the government starts robbing the common people after elections end in this country.

She further asked the government to share the ‘method’ for which fuel prices do not rise during elections.

The Congress will be holding a nation-wide protest against prise rise. Taking cue from BJP’s anti Congress slogan “Congress Mukt Bharat” (Congress-free India) the party also begun a new campaign named ‘Mehngai Mukt Bharat’ (Price rise-free India) on Thursday.
