The Queen tests COVID positive with mild symptoms
Global Desk: As England heads towards revoking all COVID related restrictions, Her Majesty The Queen has tested COVID positive on Sunday after being fully vaccinated. This was informed through an official statement from the Buckingham Palace.
Although, it has been stated that, the monarch, who is about to turn 96 in a couple of months is only experiencing moderate cold like symptoms.
Despite this, it has been known that this week Her Majesty is likely to continue to engage with light duties as the head of the state.
Buckingham Palace has also stated that her health is being continuously monitored.
It is also believed that several individuals at the Windsor Castle – where the Queen lives – has tested positive.
Soon after the news emerged in the media, wishes for her speedy recovery poured out from multiple sections of the people including the Prime Minister Boris Johnson and the leader of opposition Sir Keir Starmer.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended his good wishes through his Twitter account and said that “I wish Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth a speedy recovery and prey for her good health”.
Earlier this month, her son and royal heir Prince Charles and his wife Camilla had tested positive two days after meeting the Queen.
Her Majesty also celebrated the Platinum Jubilee of completing 70 years on the throne, which no other British monarch has done before.
