Global Desk: As the Russian troops inches closer to the capital city Kyiv, Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Thursday said that the people of Ukraine are not scared and they would not surrender.
During a statement in a social media platform, Zelenskyy said that the Russians constantly tried to devastate Ukraine, however, they have not been successful.
He also added that Ukrainians will not be intimidated so easily and would not give up the fight.
Further, the president also asked the Russian troops to go back to their land and protect their own countrymen.
The Russian troops have been fighting hard to invade Ukraine since the last eight days now.
Both the sides have lost their defence personals. While Russia says that around 500 of its troops have been killed, Zelenskyy, on the other hand states that over 9000 Russian troops have been killed by the Ukrainian army.
Additionally, many civilians have also lost their lives in the war. Reports also say that over one million civilians have left Ukraine in order to save their lives.
The leaders of both the countries will reportedly sit for talks again on Thursday.
