Global Desk: Iran’s long time supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has been killed in the joint strike carried out by US and Israel. The Iranian state media confirmed about his death.
The US and Israel coordinated a joint attack on Iran in ‘Operation Epic Fury”, killing Khamenei and several other leaders and his family members in the Islamic state. In response, Iran retaliated with massive attacks on the bases of US and Israel in the middle east. Reports conform attacks even on Dubai airport and parts of Qatar, leading to temporary suspension of airspace operation in the region.
US President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social platform that this is not just a justice for the people of Iran, but all great Americans. He also confirmed that US had closely worked with Israel and Khamenei was unable to avoid their intelligence and highly sophisticated tracking systems.
Trump also added that it is the single greatest chance for the Iranian people to take back their country.
Khamenei’s death has been received with both jubilation and protests. Some people were seen celebrating on the occasion across Iran and elsewhere, while some have condemned the assault. Leaders from across the world have raised their concerns about the safety of civilians and stability within the region and have called for deescalation and dialogue.
