Business Desk: Bangladesh is set to redesign its currency notes. The process of the modification of its Taka notes is being prepared to get underway following the recent socio-political transformation.
As per media reports, the South Asian country, where the year’s largest student led anti-government protest took place, is poised to erase the symbols of its past political past by erasing the image of its founding leader Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who is also the father of the exiled former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The new Taka 20, 100, 500, and 100 notes would feature a fresh design. It would incorporate the images of its religious structures, local traditions, and graffities related to its recent student-led protests. The refreshed notes are slated for within the next six months.
