Trump survives murder, bullet pierces through his ear

Global Desk: Former President Donald Trump had a close encounter with death today. He survived an assignation attempt by a whisker during an election campaign on Sunday. The incident took place when he was addressing his supporters in Pennsylvania, US when a bullet passed through his right ear. Trump immediately hit the ground and when he was lifted up by the security personals he was seen bleeding from his ear. Following this he was immediately taken to a vehicle and shifted for treatment.

One individual was killed in the incident and another was injured. As per recent reports from the US media Trump is ok and safe.

Following the attack, Trump took the social media platform Truth Social to thank the secret service and the law enforcement for their rapid response. He also extended his condolences to the family of the person who was killed during the attack and also to the family of the individual who was injured.

Trump also said that the bullet pierced his upper part of the right ear, and much bleeding took place. He also mentioned that nothing is known about the shooter yet, who is dead now.

However, the recent report from Sky News say that the FBI has identified the shooters name as Thomas Matthew Crooks, who is a 20-year-old man, who pulled the trigger from approximately 150 metres from where Trump was standing. Videos released on social media indicate that the gunman shot the bullet from a roof. Nothing is clear about the motive of the attack so far.

Further, Biden also clarified that there is no place for such violence in America and we must unite as one nation to condemn it.

Former president Obama wrote on X that there is ‘absolutely no place for political violence in our democracy’.

Similarly, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi clarified that ‘violence has no place in politics and democracies’.

This murder attempt on Trump is certainly deplorable and intolerable. Violence or blood can never be the answer to anything and solution to any problem, including in politics. Being the former president and the current candidate for the post again, Trump has the right to freely express himself even though he could be disliked by his opponents. The incident also reignites the question of the safety of American people and the governments’ failure to control gun violence. When the former president is not safe how can common people feel safe in the United States?
