Qatar Airways hits dangerous turbulence, passengers injured

Global Desk: A Qatar Airways flight travelling from Doha to Dublin encountered a severe turbulence on Sunday 26 May injuring passengers and crew members in the middle of the flight.

The flight however landed safely, although exact number of injured flyers is unclear. According to an official social media post by the airlines, a ‘small number’ of passengers and crew members have sustained minor injuries, who are being given medical attention.

By assuring that the safety and security of passengers and crew members is its utmost priority, it also stated that the incident is undergoing internal investigation.

This incident of mid-air turbulence followed soon after a similar incident encountered by Singapore Airlines that took place a few days back.

Air turbulence, and even accidents are a part and parcel of air travel. Owing to this, air travellers often prefer to pay more and fly in premier brands like Singapore or Qatar, for the sake safety and security. However, when such incidents of mid-fight injuries and dangerous turbulences involves these premier brands, it further amplifies the fear and scepticism in relation to air travel, even on typically safe flights.
