Messi becomes sportsman of the year

Sports Desk: Football legend Lionel Messi have won Sportsman of the year at the Laureus World Sports Awards on Monday, 8 May.

The Argentinian world cup winner for his achievements as a global sporting icon at the world cup held in Qatar recently. Suring this he mesmerized the world with his magical touches and netted seven goals for his team, including two again defending champions France in the finals.

Messi is also known as a prominent star who represented Barcelona since his boyhood days, after moving to PSG in 2021, and at present he is set to begin a new stint at a Saudi Arabian club. he has also won 7 Ballon d’Or awards so far.

Likewise, Jamaican sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has been awarded with the best Sportswoman of the Year.
