Ed Sheeran denies copyright allegations against his song ‘Thinking Out Loud’

Art Desk:  Popular British singer Ed Sheeran has denied copyright allegations against him for his song Thinking Out Loud.

The legal team of Marvin Gaye – who is an American singer and songwriter – have alleged that Sheeran’s song has been copied from the song Let’s Get It On sung and produced by Gaye and released in 1973.

In a statement to a court in the New York City, Sheeran refuted any allegations against him and said that its an original composition and tune.

He also said that he would be quite an idiot if he had coped the song, the BBC has reported.

Thinking Out Loud, which is one of the marquee songs of Sheeran’s had become one of the top hits in 2014 and also won the Grammies in 2016.
