Biden announces candidature for re-election, promises to fight for people’s rights

Global Desk: US President Joe Biden has announced his candidature for re-election. Biden launched his campaign through several social media posts including an official campaign video on Tuesday.

By highlighting his achievements so far, he stated that individual freedom and America’s democracy has been the work of his first term as the president, and he wishes to ‘finish the job’ with his second term.

He also said that a certain section is trying to curtail the rights and freedoms of the future generation, and if he re-elected he would stand for these rights ensure that people enjoy a life with more freedom, equality, and are given a fair share to succeed as individuals.

Former President Obama also extended his support to Biden and said “Proud of all that @JoeBiden and his administration have accomplished these last few years. He’s delivered for the American people — and he’ll continue to do so once he’s re-elected.”

The next US elections is scheduled to take place next year, with Donald Trump likely to become his main rival.
