Global Desk: Indian-American entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy has announced his bid for the next presidential elections in the United States in 2024.
Born in Ohio in 1985, Ramaswamy is part of the Republican party. Besides, he is also a business person and the co-founder of a company named Strive Asset Management and Camus Venture Network in US.
Ramaswamy, who’s parents were immigrants came to the US from India’s Kerela. His father worked as a General Electric engineer, while his mother was a geriatric psychiatrist.
He married Apoorva Tewari Ramaswami, who is an assistant professor at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Both of them have two children.
Ramaswamy, sees Martin Luther King and his ideals as his inspiration.
With the campaign title “A new American dream”, his four main presidential pledges are to embrace merit over identity politics, dismantling managerial bureaucracy, restoring free speech, and defeating the communist China.
Vivek Ramaswamy, who is one of the initial bidders from the Republican party, has also launched his campaign logo that comprises of the V alphabet with the colours of the American flag. He also launched his his website vivek2024.com and have already started a social media campaign.
