Ronaldo’s girlfriend defends him, blames Portugal coach for World Cup exit

Sports Desk: Cristiano Ronaldo’s girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez has hit out at the coach of the Portugal football team after their shocking exit from the World Cup after the defeat against Morocco.

Georgina Rodriguez has rebuked coach Fernando Santos for not playing Ronaldo in the round of 16 match and making him sit on the bench till the first 55 minutes in the quarter final match against Morocco.

According to a report from talksports.com, Ronaldo’s girlfriend Rodriguez blamed Santos for the defeat and ‘underestimating’ Ronaldo’s abilities.

She also said that Santos made a wrong decision by keeping the best player of the world on the bench and not giving him enough opportunities.

Rodriguez was watching the match form the stands while Ronaldo got only 33 minutes to participate with only 10 touches to the ball. After Portugal’s exit, he was seen leaving the ground alone in tears.

Apart from his first half absence in the Morocco match, he was also fully side-lined during the round of 16 match against Switzerland.

Football fans may not see him again in the next World Cup in the US, Mexico, and Canada as he is already 37 now. Although, he might still be able to play in the next Euros.
