Al-Qaeda threatens India over Prophet Muhammad remark

National Desk: Radical terror outfit Al-Qaeda has threatened India of suicide explosive attacks in several parts of the country.

The radical group stated this in view of the controversial statement on Prophet Muhammad by BJP leader Nupur Sharma.

In a n official intimidation letter sent by the outfit, they said that in honour of the Prophet Muhammad it might hurl explosive attacks in India through suicide bombers in Mumbai, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat.  

People across communities in social media have condemned Al-Qaeda’s threat letter. Many have stated that hatred can never be the answer to hatred.  

Meanwhile, a number of Islamic majority countries like UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey, Maldives have expressed their criticism over Nupur Sharma’s statements. Additionally, some countries have also launched sanctions on India and banned Indian brands in its supermarkets.

Earlier, BJP leader Nupur Sharma had made a controversial remark on Prophet Muhammad during a television penal discussion. Due to this, she has been subjected to global criticism, especially for the Middle Eastern countries.

Following this, BJP took immediate action and suspended the leader. Besides, the party has also denounced her remarks and said that it was Sharma’s personal statement and does not represent the position of the party.
