PM Modi visits Denmark, meets PM Frederiksen, plays dhol with the Indian community

Global Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday reached Denmark as part of his three-nation Europe tour.

Upon reaching the airport in the capital city Copenhagen, he was received with a warm welcome by the Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and other government representatives.

During the day, Modi addressed a joint press conference with Frederiksen. Besides, both the leaders also had a bilateral meeting. They discussed about the way the two nations can enhance their relationship and effectively cooperate in the areas of ports, shipping, energy, management of water and so forth.

Reacting to the meeting, Modi said that the strategic partnership between the two countries is deeply valued. Further, he added that both the leaders discussed on how Denmark and India’s partnership can be made even more effective.

“India’s Green Strategic Partnership with Denmark is deeply valued. PM Frederiksen and I discussed how we can make this partnership even more effective. We also discussed cooperation in sectors such as renewable energy, ports, shipping, water management and more,” Modi said

Additionally, Modi also addressed an event organized by the Indian community in Denmark. He was also seen playing a dhol while meeting the Indian diaspora.

Later in the day, the Prime Minister met the Royal Queen of Denmark Margrethe II in the capital.
