National Desk: Eid al-Fitr is being celebrated around the world on Tuesday. People from the Muslim community congregated in different mosques across the country to offer their prayers on the occasion.
The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi wished the nation on this special occasion. In a social media post he wished that this auspicious occasion can strengthen the spirit of brotherhood and unity among the people.
“Best wishes on Eid-ul-Fitr. May this auspicious occasion enhance the spirit of togetherness and brotherhood in our society. May everyone be blessed with good health and prosperity,” he said.
Similarly, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also extended his greetings to the nation and wished that the festival of Eid can bring unity, love, and brotherhood among all.
“Eid Mubarak! May this auspicious festival usher in the spirit of love and unite us all in the bond of brotherhood and harmony,” he said.
Eid is the culmination of the month-long ritual of fasting among the Muslim community. During the month of Ramadan, they fast the whole day, before breaking the same during the time of Iftar in the evening. Muslims around the world come together on this day to celebrate and offer prayers with their family and friends.
