Djokovic disappointed over the ban on Russian & Belarusian players from Wimbledon

Sports Desk: Tennis legend Novak Djokovic has expressed his disappointment over the ban on Russian and Belarusian players from competing at the Wimbledon this year.

He said this during a post-match press interaction in the Serbia Open.

Djokovic stated that he does not support war and violence, however politics should be kept away from the field of sports.

Besides, he termed the decision of banning Russian and Belarusian players as ‘crazy’.

Earlier, the organizers of the Wimbledon had announced that Russian and Belarusian players will be barred from participating in this year’s Wimbledon tournament in view of the ongoing war in Ukraine.

This latest announcement will prohibit top players like Daniil Medvedev and Aryna Sabalenka from participating in the tournament.
