The Queen celebrates her 96th birthday, gets her own Barbie doll

Global Desk: The Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom celebrated her 96th birthday on Thursday.

To celebrate the special occasion, Her Majesty flew to her estate in Norflok, England through a helicopter.

Upon reaching there she was greeted and joined by her family members and friends.

According to reports, the Queen would be staying in a cottage which was adored by the Duke of Edinburgh and her late husband Price Philip.

To mark the occasion, a special photograph of Her Majesty was released by the Royal Windsor Horse Show on Wednesday, where she is seen posing with two ponies. The photograph soon went viral on the social media.

Additionally, she was also inundated with birthday wishes in social media from the members of the royal family and her admirers all over the world.

In their birthday message to Her Majesty, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Prince William and Kate Middleton said in their official social media account that she is an ‘inspiration to many across the UK, the Commonwealth and the world.’

They also added that it is particularly special to celebrate the platinum jubilee year of the Queen’s reign on the throne.

Along with the message, they also posted two pictures of the Queen. In one of them, she is seen posing for a family photograph with the Duke of Edinburgh and her grandchildren.

Likewise, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and the leader of opposition Sir Keir Starmer of the Labour Party also extended their good wishes to the Queen.

Alternatively, a special barbie doll of her was also released by the American multinational toy making brand Mattel. It is said to be made in honour of her completion of 70 years as a Monarch of Britain and head of the Commonwealth.

Queen Elizabeth II, who took over the reign of the monarch at a very tender age is the longest serving monarch in the history of the Commonwealth.
