Sports Desk, 02 April, 2022: Russian professional tennis player Daniil Medvedev has stated that he would be out of the tennis court for at least one to two months due to a muscle injury.

Taking on the social media on Saturday, the 26-year-old Medvedev said that since the last month he has been playing with a small hernia. Therefore, he has decided to get it fixed in order to be back on court with full fitness.

“The last months I have been playing with a small hernia. Together with my team I have decided to have a small procedure done to fix the problem. I will likely be out for the next 1-2 months and will work hard to be back on court soon,” he said.

Medvedev, is currently ranked number two in the ATP world rankings.

Recently, he was seen in action at the Miami Open where he bowed down at the quarter finals and lost to Hubert Hurkacz of Poland.

With this he also missed the chance of becoming the world number one.

Earlier, he had reached the top spot for the first time and become the world number one in the men’s rankings in February 2022. However, he could only hang on to the position for very long and slipped to the second spot again.
