Sports Desk, 25 March, 2022: Popular football star Paul Pogba recently opened up about the issues of depression and mental health problems in the football industry.
While interacting with a French newspaper named Le Figaro he shared his experiences about depression and mental health challenges faced by the football players.
Pogba, said that footballers too suffer from mental health issues because they are human beings like anyone else and not superheroes.
Regarding his own personal experiences, he said that depression has attacked him several times during his footballing career.
By particularly mentioning about his relationship with former Manchester United manger Jose Mourinho, Pogba said that he experienced a bitter relationship with Mourinho, who also removed him from the vice-captaincy of the team in 2018, after which Mourinho himself was stripped off his post.
Further, the French national also said that even though footballers receive high salaries, that does not mean that they become immune to mental health problems.
He also asserted that footballers often face such issues but do not speak about it to anyone.
Moreover, sometimes they are not even aware about their mental health problems, and they keep themselves isolated from others, he added.
