Entertainment Desk, 16 March, 2022: Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan has announced that he is coming up with his own over-the-top (OTT) media platform named ‘SRK+’ very soon.
Taking on the social media, Khan shared a picture of him along with the logo of his new entertainment brand on Tuesday.
Referring to the title of one of his iconic films from the 90s’ era ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, he also wrote “Kuch kuch hone wala hai OTT ki duniya mein” – something is going to happen in the world of OTT.
The post by Khan received around 82.9K likes and over 4,000 comments in a social media platform.
Soon after Khan’s announcement, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap revealed that he will be partnering with the Bollywood star in this new media initiative.
“Dream come true! Collaborating with @iamsrk on his new OTT app, SRK+,” he said.
Moreover, a number of Bollywood personalities including Salman Khan, Farhan Akhtar and Karan Johar extended their good wishes to Khan for his new endeavour.
Salman Khan said “Aaj ki party teri taraf se @iamsrk (Today’s party is from your side). Congrats on your new OTT app, SRK+.”
Similarly, actor Farhan Akhtar wrote “Woah! Congratulations @imsrk ..intrigued to know what’s to follow.”
While filmmaker and producer Karan Johar said that it is the “biggest news of the year” and “this is going the change the face of OTT.”
Shah Rukh Khan has not been seen in any major Bollywood release for sometime now. His latest announcement about the OTT platform has come soon after his son Ariyan Khan was involved in a cruise ship drug controversy and imprisoned for many days before being granted bail.
