Editorial Desk, 11 March, 2022: This is what the matter is all about. We are too prompt to display our military muscle. Russia is perhaps the best example for this. Russia`s invasion of Ukraine is not on any moral or ideological principle. Since Ukraine is an independent sovereign country it has every right to own its own foreign policy. It does not necessarily mean that this foreign policy ought to be to the liking of Russia. Similarly, it  also necessarily means that Russian foreign policy should be a palatable dish for Ukraine. Russia was deaf to calls from the world community for restraint and good sense. Ukraine has not usurped any portion of Russian land. The matter is simply the egocentricity of Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia.  President of Ukraine, with a shorter political experience, also has not learnt risk of relying on the lip services of the NATO members. When Ukraine is burning, the NATO members are seen to be playing the fiddle citing excuses after excuses. In the changed and suffered context Ukraine`s membership of NATO appears to be meaningless. But both Russia and Ukraine leaderships appear to be hesitant to learn the ground-level truth.
