Business Desk: In view of the latest actions of Russia in Ukraine, technology giant Apple Inc has suspended the sales of its products including iPhones, iMacs, iPads in Russia.
As a result of this Apple consumers in Russia cannot buy any of its products either in Apple stores or through online shopping.
Earlier, Apple Inc had also banned its digital payment platform Apple Pay. Likewise, the company also withdrew some Russian brands including RT News and Sputnik from the Apple Store. This prevented people even outside Russia from downloading these applications in their Apple devices.
In addition to this, Apple has also removed the live traffic indication feature from Apple Maps in Ukraine, so that the Russia is unable to use it for tactical purposes in relation to the ongoing war, citing that it is a “safety and precautionary measure for the people of Ukraine”.
In an official statement from Apple Inc, the company has said that it is deeply concerned with the ongoing scenes in Ukraine and fully stand with the people who has been victimized as a result of the violence.
Further, Apple also stated that it is doing everything it can to support human-centred initiatives in the region. Besides, the company is also supporting its team present in Ukraine.
