Sci-Tech Desk: Facebook owner Meta has released a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) model that will be able to translate about hundred languages.
As per Meta’s website, it will be useful in instantly translating speech-to-speech and speech-to-text based on AI enabled language model.
Meta says that SeamlessM4T is a ‘significant breakthrough’ in the AI based language translation system because it is the first one of its kind all in one multilingual multimodal AI translation and transcription model.
Additionally, Meta also says that building such universal language translators is particularly challenging because the existing models available to us uses only a few number of languages.
It also adds that SeamlessM4T will empower people who speak different languages to effectively communicate with each other.
