Experiencing the Taj Mahal on a full moon night becomes easier

Travel Desk: Taj Mahal is one of the global icons of India. Imagine viewing its mesmerizing beauty with your friends or family on a full moon night. You will now be able to experience this by easily booking an online ticket to the Taj.

According to recent reports, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has stated that tourists will be able to book online tickets to experience the Taj at night from May 1.

Night visits to the Taj was available till the 1980s, however it was stopped due to security concerns. Although, after demands from tourist organizations the Supreme Court in India allowed its viewing through offline booking system on the full moon nights and two days prior and after it in a batch of 50 tourists at a time and 400 tourists per night.

This new online system of booking tickets to the Taj has brought a lot of cheer to the tourist community. It will also increase the demand of experiencing this world heritage and iconic monument in the moonlight. Most importantly, it is set to boost the revenue of ASI and the overall tourism industry of Agra and the adjoining areas.

Taj Mahal is situated on the bank of river Yamuna in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. It was built by Shah Jahan as a tribute to his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. The construction of this monument took many years and was completed in 1643.
