Lifestyle Desk: As a progressive move towards equality, Thailand has become the largest nation in Asia to legalize same sex marriage.
To celebrate the occasion, mass wedding ceremonies of LGBTQ couples were held across the country.
The same sex marriage law was legalized in the Asian nation after it was passed in its parliament in June 2024, and with this Thailand has become the third nation in Asia to make seme sex marriage legal after Nepal and Tiwan.
This is being regarded as historic moment for the LGBTQ community in the country. They have rejoiced the moment with much jubliation and emotion.
Speaking on the ocassion on social media, Thailand’s Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra regrded this as a collective achivement led by the LGBTQ community, and said that the rainbow flag was proudly flying over Thailand.
She also added that it marked the beginning of the nations’s greater awareness of gender diversity and its embrace of everyone regardless of sexual orientation, race, or religion.
