Nepal increases fees for Everest summits
Global Desk: The price to climb Mount Everest is set to increase soon. Nepal has announced a heavy increase in the permit fees to climb the tallet mountain in the world.
Climbers who wish to summit the mountain during the peak season would have to pay 15,000 USD. This is 36% hike form the longtime fee of 11,000 USD.
This is the first time the Himalayan nation has risen the fees for the summit in many years. The tourism fuelled by the Everest summiteers is one of the biggest generators of revenue for the country, with hundreds of climbers endeavouring to climb the mountain every year.
