Jimmy Carter, the longest living US President dies at 100

Global Desk: Former US President Jimmy Carter breathed his last on 29 Dec. 2024 at his residence in Georgia.

100-years-old Carter who was the 39th President of US was also the longest-lived US President ever.

His stint as a democrat President lasted from 1977 to 1981. As a leader he was known for his integrity, morality and unwavering commitment for human rights.

The CNN has written on social media that Carter, who served one term as the President, had become a globe-trotting elder statesman and humanitarian icon.

By sharing an old picture with Carter on social media, current President Joe Biden said that he was a man of all times and embodied the most fundamental human values that we should never let slip away.

Biden also said that he and Jill had the honour of calling Carter a dear friend, and millions of people throughout America who had never met Carter had also thought of him as a dear friend.

Likewise, former President Barak Obama also expressed deep sadness over Carter’s death. He said that Carter had taught all of us what it meant to live a life of grace, dignity, justice, and service.
