Queen Camilla speaks up for domestic abuse survivors
Lifestyle Desk: Queen Camilla has spoken out against violence towards women and called for urgent action and awareness. The Queen consort expressed her views on domestic abuse and women’s safety at the 50th anniversary of Women’s Aid, a national charity organization.
While speaking to the guests, including the survivors of assaults like acid attacks, the Queen consort said that it was terrible that even after half a century of efforts to end it, violence against women had not stopped.
She also acknowledged that even though the society had made progress, hearing the same devastating stories from women and men around the world was still common.
Speaking about the recent documentary film titled ‘Her Majesty The Queen: Behind Closed Doors’ which is centred on generating awareness on domestic abuse and violence against women, the 77-year-old Queen reaffirmed her determination to end this menace. She also emphasized the importance of collective efforts so that every time a survivor hears another voice, it would inspire and encourage them to speak out as well.
