A Penguin becomes world famous after swimming across continents
Sci-Tech Desk: Recently, a Penguin dubbed ‘Gus’ has captured attention for its remarkable journey of swimming across continents in search of food. According to media reports, the male Penguin had a daunting voyage from as far as Antarctica to Australia, before being recovered by the local authorities on a popular tourist beach in Western Australia.
It was spotted first on the on November 1, 2024, in a beach located in the coastal town of Denmark in Australia. Following that, the Penguin was taken for recovery by the local authorities. It was released back to the sea twenty days after the rescue.
Following its recovery for over 20 days, it was released at a location in the Southern Ocean from the city of Albany from a service boat, reports CBS.
As informed by an analyst in the BBC 5 Live radio, the Penguin was sighted in a weak and tired state and had lost half of its body weight after this audacious journey across continents. The analysist also informed that following its release the Penguin is unlikely to repeat the same given the amount of toll it endured on its body.
