Climate: The world is chopping 10 soccer field worth of forests each minute
Climate Desk: There is often a conflict between prioritizing between the environment and the economy. However, President Joe Biden has explained that there is no requirement of choosing between the climate and the economy, because the fight for the climate is the fight for the humanity, and both can be chosen together, as it has often been proven.
Biden said this during his visit to the Amazon rainforest, after becoming the first sitting US president to do so.
During the occasion he also outlined that our forests were the heart and soul of the world, and its preservation would benefit all the humanity.
Reaffirming its commitment to climate change, Biden explained about the merciless deforestation and abuse to the nature by stating that each minute the world was chopping equivalent to 10 soccer field worth of forests, and his administration had been a leader in the fight to reserve deforestation by 2030.
Climate change diriven by deforestation and pollution emmision, has become a major global concern. It is nothing less deadlier than cancer. This has led to several survival challenges starting from increase in temperature, natural calamities, degradation of the environment, worsening air and water quality making lives difficut and toxic.
