Art Desk: Singer songwriter Billie Eilish has become one of the first celebrities to openly criticize Donald Trump after the Presidential election results.
Eilish, who has been one of the staunch supporters of Kamal Harris and women’s rights, including transgender rights, has voiced her disappointment over Trump’s return to the White House by halting one of her concerts held in Nashville during the election results day.
The clips from the concert went viral on social media. One of them showed Eilish pausing in the middle of performance of her famous song ‘TV’, which is in relation to the Roe vs Wade judgement. She was also seen in teary eyes during the occasion.
Earlier, in another performance just before the final day of the elections, she had similarly stopped in the middle of a performance and urged her fans to vote for Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.
Billie Eilish was one of the prominent endorsers of Kamala Harris during the 2024 Presidential campaign along with other musicians like Taylor Swift, and Beyonce.
