Sci-Tech: The Indian Space Research Organization – ISRO – has touched another milestone! It has successfully launched its Earth Observation Satellite EOS-08.

The satellite was launched through its Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV)-D3 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota on 16 August, 2024.

Soon after the launch, the satellite was also successfully placed precisely into the orbit, informs ISRO on a social media post.

With this accomplishment, ISRO says that the Indian space industry and its central public sector enterprise NewSpace India Limited will now produce SSLV for commercial missions.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a social media post has called this a ‘remarkable milestone’ and congratulated the scientists of ISRO. He also said that this cost effective SSLV would play an important role in space missions and also encourage the private industry.
