Sci-Tech Desk: The users of ChatGPT might soon use the platform for accessing news and current affairs. It has confirmed that it can now offer its users with latest information, reports BBC.

Until now the OpenAI owned, and Microsoft backed artificial intelligence platform can only furnish its users with information till September 2021. Due to this it is not possible to browse information beyond this time.

However, if the latest capability comes into effect than its users would soon be in position to use the AI platform for obtaining news and current based information. This as a result might make ChatGPT a new medium form accessing journalistic content and also have a substantial impact on the news industry and our information consumption behaviours.

While this might make it easier to access information, it also has its downsides. The credibility of the information received through it would still be doubtful as its source is hardly. This might have serious consequences as it might generate misleading or untrue information and further worsen the ongoing problem of fake news.

ChatGPT has stated that this this news feature along with the capability of oral conversations with users would be launched soon. Although, if it fails to provide accurate information with the reference of sources than this might lead to a new threat to the community and the digital world.
