Amazon joins AI race to compete with Microsoft and Google
Business Desk: Amazon is set to jump into the sea of Artificial Intelligence (AI). On Monday, 25 September 2023 the company said that it will be investing around 4 billion USD in a new AI startup brand named Anthropic.
As many tech companies are investing in AI, Amazon’s aim is to compete with its rivals in the AI realm with this new project. In the recent times, Google and Microsoft have invested heavily in the AI field with brands like ChatGPT and Brad which have already taken the world by storm.
Anthropic is an AI startup based in the United States. It has been founded by former team members of ChatGPT’s OpenAI.
It is dedicated in developing language models and other AI based technologies.
This new initiative of Amazon highlights the growing rivalry in investing in AI among the leading tech giants. This also indicates that the AI based technologies will mostly be within the control of these handful tech companies that could to a certain extent monopolize the AI industry.
