Alcaraz beats unbeatabe Djokovic at the Wimbledon finals
Sports Desk: The Goat has been finally beaten! World number one Carlos Alcaraz have won the Wimbledon title by defeating favourite Novak Djokovic on Sunday.
Alcaraz, who celebrated his 20th birthday two months back outclassed the legend in the final set with the core of 1-6, 7-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 to became one of the youngest to win the Wimbledon title.
Additionally, the rising sensation from Spain became the first gentlemen’s champion since 2003 from outside the big four league of Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, and Murray to lift the trophy.
After winning the trophy Alcaraz thanked his fans and also said that Djokovic is an inspiration, and he started playing tennis by seeing him.
Meanwhile, Djokovic, who couldn’t equal the record of Roger Federer’s eight-time Wimbledon title record and Margaret Court’s 24 major titles congratulated Alcaraz and his team.
Novak also started to cry in the presentation while thanking the fans and pointing at his son.
“Nice to see my son still up there, smiling…I love you. Thank you for supporting me. I will give you a big hug,” he said.
Many dignitaries, including Roger Federer, Lleyton Hewitt, members of the Royal Family were present on the centre court for the finals.
