India’s voyage to the moon! ISRO launches Chandrayaan 3

Science/Tech Desk: India’s ISRO has achieved another feat in its space mission. On July 14, 2023 the Indian Space Research Organization successfully carried out the launch of its mission to the Moon Chandrayaan 3.

The mission which is India’s third lunar mission was performed from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Among others, the objective of the mission is to study the Moon’s geological and mineral capabilities and the possibility of the presence of water on its surface.

Besides, the mission will also be significant in collecting data on the Moon’s atmosphere and dust environment.

The second version of the mission Chandrayaan – 2  was executed in 2019, which unfortunately couldn’t be successful after the lander and the rover ended up crashing on the moon.

ISRO has constantly been achieving massive feats over the last few years and positioned itself as one of the key space organizations in the world after NASA.Whether the Chandrayaan 3 is successful in fulfilling its objectives is yet to be seen. The mission is likely to last for 14 days.
