Cricket World Cup qualifiers schedule announced
Sports Desk: The schedule of the Cricket World Cup 2023 qualifiers in Zimbabwe has been announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday, 23 May.
According to icc-crcket.com, ten teams will be competing in the qualifiers that has been divided into two groups. The top two teams from the qualifier will participate in the World Cup tournament to be hosted in India later this year.
The matches will be played between 18 June to 19 July. Among others, former world champions West Indies and Sri Lanka will also have to go through these qualifiers in order to play the World Cup. Meanwhile, traditionally lower ranked teams like Afghanistan and Bangladesh have already qualified for the showpiece event.
England are the defending world champions after they beat New Zealand in 2019.
